Whenever we are looking for a vacation, we just imagine ourselves being surrounded by the gorgeous views of the snow-peaked hills, chilly mountain air, and a sense of tranquillity. A city with pristine white and extraordinarily beautiful views, Shimla is an all-time favorite hilly stop for every one. A spell of fresh snowfall is cast there every time during winters. Everything is covered in a thick white blanket of snow and the views are breath-taking. The stunning snow-capped mountains gave me such a calming effect that I just wanted to leave my footprints there always. I found maze-like alleys, steep valleys, and whatnot!
There was some buzz all around, vacationers were filled up with all the joy and energy. Pleasant walking in those beautiful evenings with a hot mug of coffee was like a cherry on the top for me.
The lush greenery, snow-clad mountains need some exploring and there are a plethora of activities that can be done, so here I am going to tell you about what I did during my trip to Shimla.
1) Toy Train Ride
Passing through the green hills will be your best experience so far. I begin my journey by this as this ride has been on my bucket list since childhood and I’m sure that it is also there on the bucket list of most of the people traveling to Shimla.
2) Scandal Point
If you are fond of watching sunsets then you just cannot miss out on witnessing the beautiful sparkling sunset at Scandal Point. I took my camera and clicked some amazing shots there. Trust me you will have a great experience here.
3) Kufri
Who doesn’t know about Kufri, the alluring beauty so close to the Shimla? I had my best trekking and hiking experiences over there as they were the most adventurous ones.
4) River Rafting
If water sports excite you, then go and try Rafting at Tattapani. It’s one of the biggest rafting regions of the Himachal.
5) Walkthrough Summerhill Area
The most awe-inspiring place to be in Shimla is the Summerhill Area. A walk through this will take you along the tall pine trees for hours and hours amidst nature.
6) Camp Chrysalid
If you want to look beyond the hotels in Shimla, try opting for camping at Camp Chrysalid. For a change I also tried staying in a camp and I got to experience a lot of fun activities and adventure sports there.
7) Tara Devi Temple
A visit to Tara Devi Temple is also a great option to experience the serenity and to awaken your spiritual self. Whenever I visit a new place, I always try to keep at least one famous religious spot of that place on my list for visiting as this helps me in connecting to that place in a better way. I get to know about the culture and tradition of that place even more.
8) Ice Skating
I tried to learn Ice Skating in Kufri, and I am glad that I did. If you are planning your trip during the winters then you should also try this.
9) Annandale Museum
For photography purposes, I explored the Annandale Museum which is rich in army culture. This site has a beautiful garden of cedar trees adjoining it.
10) Shopping at Lakkar Bazaar
And at the end Do not forget to take souvenirs for your loved ones from the Lakkar Bazaar or Tibetan Market and the Mall Road. Everything is so pocket-friendly and rich in cultural heritage. Take a stroll on these markets and do not wait to be a shopping spree.
After seeing these amazing views,I was like “Oh my God! Is that even real?” The clouds here look like fresh cotton candy. Nothing can ever be as serene and surreal as witnessing this.
So, what are you waiting for? Haven’t you booked your tickets yet?
