Still wondering how? Travelling is all about adventure, joy, and fun. This time you won’t be needing to break the bank, you will be planning a budget-friendly trip on your own.
Hola! Let me remind you one thing that traveling isn’t just for the rich anymore. We’ll explore the deep alleys and valleys of Shimla within our budget. We’ll go for that snowfall and make the most out of it. Above all, any trip shouldn’t cost you an arm and leg!
So, let’s go through some super handy tips that helped me to better plan out my budget-friendly trip to the queen of hills – Shimla.
1) Avoid hustle and bustle, try traveling out of season
If you’ll plan this way, trust me you’ll end up saving a lot. Due to high demand during the high peak season, the price list of both hotels and food touches the sky top. So, I planned my trip in March.
2) Being Accommodation savvy takes you far
Accommodation is the most important thing that can make you cross your budget. So, always try exploring various stay options on different websites. This will give you a comparative view.
For saving my money, I tried staying in OYO rooms this time. An OYO room will cost you around INR 1000 for 1 night stay.
3) Opt for public Transport and book all in prior
You can choose between buses and trains. You will just need to look at the official website of IRCTC. Whereas for local sightseeing, you can walk around to some places or you can hire private taxes over there. A private Taxi will cost you around INR 1000 for a day and the cost will vary depending on the places you want to cover.
4) Look for an All-Inclusive Package
If you do not wish to research everything separately, you should opt for a full package. As everything will be included in this, from food to travel and stay, this will be super comfortable for you.A basic All-Inclusive package costs around INR 5000-6000 for 2 days and 1-night stay.
5) Join guided Tours and prefer traveling in groups
If you’ll go for a guided trip you can enjoy it much more, as there are many fun activities which can be done like rock climbing, hiking, paragliding, skiing and what not! Being in groups will let you enjoy it even more.
6) Explore for Free-bees
Some of the best things in life are for free or cheap. Look for some public gardens and unexplored spots. This can be done through a self-guided walking tour.
7) Be a good planner
Planning out everything in advance saves a lot of time and money. Take all the necessary information about a particular place with you. For example, information about cheap and best food options around that place.
8) Look for discounts by signing up for mailing lists
There are many websites which keep on providing you the upcoming discount offers for different travel destinations. So, keep an eye on them and find out something which suits you the best.
9) Be Flexible
If you are looking to adhere to your budget, you should compromise on some expensive things, so that your pocket is full and you can spend on some good things.
10) Be good at haggling
This might be an underrated skill but it can surely help you save bucks on your trip. You can get the best deals on your souvenirs if you try out this.
So, are you ready to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul through this tranquil trip to Shimla?
