Udaipur – Romance with Royalty!

Udaipur, the city that has many names, i.e. Venice of the East & the City of Lakes, belongs to the Mewar province of Rajasthan, India. It was founded in 1553 by ‘Maharana Udai Singh’ of the Sisodia clan. The glory of Udaipur is analogous to the bravery of kings.
Walking along the streets of Udaipur feels nothing less than a Romantic Verse of an out-of-the-world novel. Set afar from the purple ridge of Aravalli Hills, Udaipur has so much to offer, be it delicious delicacies, pristine lakes, and marvelous architecture. Udaipur can be the winner of the “City of Love” title in India. The allure of the very larger-than-life yet introverted culture of the local populace, constituting mostly of Marwaris or Rajasthanis, is attractive to tourists from across the globe.
If you were to visit Udaipur, I would highly recommend that you,
- Experience Hot Air Ballon
- Explore City Palace and Sheesh Mahal
- Have your lunch at Taj Lake Palace.
- Roam around the local markets and shop
- Go on a cycling tour of Udaipur
I woke up to tranquility in a Grand Heritage Lake View Room of Nirvana Haveli and the wholesome experience of stay, food and everything royal can not be penned into words. You can have a look by yourself. If I were you, I would not look for anything less than this experience. You don’t get to experience royal luxury every day.

I loved the food at Grasswood Cafe. The ambiance, the view, and more importantly, the hospitality were to die for. In a live lecture session from the Cafe, my Udaipur-based students recognized the place and came to visit me. I mean it was surreal to experience the food and environment with a group and I can’t stress it enough.
The people and the local culture are true revelations. The delicacies are tease on your palate and the flavors leave you craving for more. To experience a slice of the local culture, be sure to indulge in the folk songs that are belted out at local market corners, and to regale in a shopping extravaganza in the hustling, crowded yet colorful Bazaar.
Udaipur means Love.
Lots of Love,
Sumit!
